Libary cards: Kids are able to get their own library car at 5 years old. They will need your signature if younger than 14 years old. This is a great opportunity to learn about how to handle and take care of books, about responsibility and due dates, and about enjoying quality time with your child. Books have a check out period of 2 weeks. We do not charge late fees, but we do charge for damaged or lost books. We have found that people are generous and willing to donate to our piggy bank to assist in the cost of replacing, reparing, and purchacing books for our library. Thank you!
1000 Books Before Kindergarten: The Donnellson Library participates in and encourages the 1000 Books Before Kindergarten program. Information on this program can be found here. We want to celebrate you successes. Let us know when for each 100 books completed. We will take a picture of your child and post it. When your child reaches 1000 your child will get to pick a free book. Shoot for 2,000 or 3,000! Let us know of your successes and we will help you celebrate!
The books we read at story time on Tuesdays count! Let the librarian know you would like a list of the titles that were read, so you can add them to your list. We keep a record of the books we read at story hour. If you forget to get the list while here, it isn't too late to ask.
